Cancer is often a lingering disease that strikes all age groups. It may require repeated, extensive treatment, resulting in the person being unable to work, high hospitalization bills, and loss of income. The National Cancer Institute reports that Cancer will strike in three out of four families. UTUIA's Cancer Hospital Indemnity policy offers peace of mind. The benefits are paid directly to you to use as you see fit to help meet household expenses and other continuing expenses. This policy supplements regular hospitalization insurance, thereby protecting savings. The coverage provides important benefits:
A $50 daily benefit is payable from the first day (as long as your hospital* visit requires an overnight stay). This $50 benefit ($1,500 per month) is payable for the first 90 days of hospital confinement in the hospital of your choice, including government hospitals, after which, beginning the 91st day of continuous hospital confinement, benefits increase to $100 per day ($3,000 per month).
*A hospital is not a bed, unit or a facility situated within or outside a hospital that functions as a hospice, a skilled nursing facility, a nursing home, an extended care facility, a convalescent home, a rest home or a home for the aged, a sanitarium, a rehabilitation center, a place for the treatment of substance abuse, or a facility for the care and treatment of mental disease or mental disorders. Limitations and Exclusions: Cancer must be diagnosed by a microscopic examination of human tissue or fluid (a standard medical practice for the diagnosis of Cancer) by a qualified pathologist. This plan covers Cancer first diagnosed 30 days after the policy effective date.
