Serge was born in Montreal and immigrated to California in the late 50’s travelling to Los Angeles on the Super Chief. He never imagined at that time that one day he would be working on the Santa Fe. He served in the US Army for 3 years.   He first came to the railroad in 1977 as a laborer and the next year established brakeman/switchman seniority as well as joining the UTU.

Serge is a proud 2nd generation Field Supervisor since 1989. His father, who worked as a bus operator and later as a Field Supervisor and leader, urged him to accept the position of Field Supervisor as he was nearing retirement.  That torch was passed over 26 years ago and Serge remains loyal and devoted to providing for the unique needs of the Brothers and Sisters of the UTUIA.   He has 2 grown sons and lives in California.

Chris currently resides in Nashville, NC with wife Angela and 2 daughters.  His motto is a simple one:  “treat others as you’d expect to be treated, with compassion and understanding.”
